Morning, Pals.
I have a number of emails now which request I include the approximate cost of the dishes
on the site for an easy reference in these difficult times. I will try to increase to this level of detail. Keep in mind this is only a general estimate and the difficulty will be in representing
the cost of bulk purchased pantry items, but I will try to get as close as I can.
Be well,
The Hostess
Perfectly sensible request, but very tough to do accurately when you are dealing with a global audience. You will have people who will need to travel to a gourmet shop to purchase the same item that someone else can get from their local farm stand.
ReplyDeleteI would limit yourself to statements like "here in the northeast this is in season now so it is both plentiful and a great bargain".
I agree wholeheartedly! I think that people would understand if you print things like "these ingredients were already in my pantry."
ReplyDeleteI often buy things just because they are "specially priced" and then troll my good blog-friends for recipes. Thanks to you and so many others for being my test kitchens!
Oh! My pleasure Anon. And DH, all noted with thanks! So, I have tried this with the last two recipes before returning here to your comments, and it is really difficult. Also, I think I might be too cheap to face this - people who wrote in to ask this of me, it is not looking good!
